Herbert Casper Schwieters was born on May 31st, 1926. In September of 2008 at the age of 82, Herbert was diagnosed with lung cancer. He met with the surgeons at the University of Minnesota with hopes of a cure. Here he developed an instant relationship with his surgeons and his journey began.

Herbert's fight ended on February 20, 2010. Through Herbert's Hope, we pledge to donate all money raised to the Thoracic Oncology Laboratory at the University of Minnesota with the hopes of eradicating this devastating illness.
